who am I?

I'm a father of two incredible kids who make me laugh, tire me out, and teach me every day. I love my wife. She's the hardest working and most caring person I've ever known and is an inspiration every day!

I am a gadget freak. Always have been. This was probably handed down to me from my grandfather who HAD to have all the latest everything. He would collect these toys and have fun explaining to me how they worked.

At some point when I was young I fell in love with pictures. I could sit there staring at images for a long time, imagining what was going on at the time the picture was taken...who was president...what was the person in the picture doing? Those sorts of things. Pictures, for me, have always told a story and it's this aspect of photography that fuels my fire.

There are two images that have had a significant impact on my love for photography. The first is a portrait of my grandfather when he was a young Air Force cadet. My grandfather passed away a few years ago, but every time I look at this picture it immediately evokes some different memory I have of him. The second picture is of my grandfather and grandmother taken shortly after they were married. He's got his arms around her and they are both looking off into the distance, maybe imagining their future together. When I see this picture, it reminds me of the love they had for each other.

Other than photography, I am an avid baseball fan. Specifically, a San Francisco Giants fan. And yes, we were robbed of the 2002 World Series. I love to play guitar, but cannot write lyrics for the life of me. I love my dog. I've lived abroad in Costa Rica for 7 months, and it saddens me that I have almost completely lost my ability to speak Spanish.
